One of my favorite authors is Beth Moore. She's smart. A well-researched writer who digs into the Bible with the sharpest shovel she can find. And she's imperfect. She highlights her vulnerabilities and uses them as teaching tools. And she's funny. So often Bible scholars are the opposite of that, as if a sense of humor is something God wouldn't actually have; when a playpus is proof of that. Her blog provides regular doses of these valuable characteristics.
Good Hair is a documentary by Chris Rock about black Americans and the world of hair. I laughed from beginning to end and came to two conclusions. One - I should stop complaining about my perms in the 80's. Two - black don't crack.
Matt Morris is probably the Mickey Mouse Club graduate you hadn't heard of until the Haiti benefit when he sang a duet with Mr. Timberlake. I delighted in their rendition of "Hallelujah," so I sought to learn more. And I fell for him. Hard. This song, "Bloodline," is one of my faves from his top notch album "When Everything Breaks Open."
