The Post About Not Graduating from High School
In Alabama, we're gearing up for a primary run-off vote for governor.
I received a mailing today from one of the candidates that included the line:
"We don't need bureaucrats or people outside of Alabama telling us what's best for our schools."
Two things for the aforementioned candidate.
1. You are a bureaucrat.
2. Alabama is #44 in public high school graduation rates with 2 out of every 5 students not making it.
Maybe some outside consult would be helpful.

What would probably be the most helpful is increase spending. Yeah, that will help.
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of sounding jaded, it's not like they could do much worse. I hate reading things from my teacher-friends back home and all the *ahem* monkey business they have to deal with on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteJ: I like these moments when I blog about something you care about.
ReplyDeleteKO: Monkey business never good.
I'll give you some outside counsel...
