--COMMENTS NOW CLOSED--
If you've read many of my Rabbit Recommends, then you know I'm a fan of the acoustic songwriter-ish types.
But I do have a few guilty pleasures who don't quite fit in any playlist. Those outcasts include Ke$ha, Flyleaf, Jay-Z, Selena Gomez, and La Roux.
They're best served on the side of organizing a closet.
So what about you? In exchange for your honesty, I'll give one forthright rabbit reader $30 in iTunes moolah.

Rock and Roll-its my favorite genre of music

I cannot live without musicals (Les Mis, Wicked, Rent, etc.), Chicago or Dan Folgerberg. I know that all of these are relatively embarrassing. (Although, I would challenge anyone who says they are not touched by the Folgerberg's "Same Auld Lang Syne.")
ReplyDeleteBut, I also can't help myself when it comes to loving Jay-Z's, "I've Got 99 Problems but a B*&$% Ain't One."
And feel free to add any "Now That's What I Call Music" volume to my embarrassing list.

ReplyDeleteMy secret music loves that no one knows about...hmm...I do like some Miley songs even though politically I'm anti-Miley. I'm open now about my love for Taylor Swift. It doesn't come up as much I guess but I do love some old random country. There's this older country station programmed in my car radio and I get really excited when they play The Judds and Dolly Parton. They've also been playing a lot of Louisiana Saturday Night lately which brings me a ridiculous amount of joy.
People would be surprised that I like country music. It's not my norm, but I do enjoy it. (amykiane@gmail.com)

Let's see, my favorite music genre would be rock/alternative, and I'm very not-religious, so I do think people would be surprised to know that I absolutely LOVE the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. It started when my high school put on the production and I had friends performing so I saw it like 2 or 3 times, and then heard the original cast recording, and fell in love.

I guess the thing people might be most surprised I have on my ipod is some good ole Veggie Tales ... especially considering I don't have children. But I have found that "God is Bigger Than the Boogie Man" can really calm one's nerves in fearful situations and "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" song really makes me feel successful just because I have in fact done some things.
